Catching Up: Utah trip and air head move of the year!

My cousin Ali got married in Park City, on the mountain, in September, and it was beautiful! The guests got to ride the chair lift up and the alpine slides down (except Alivia and me. We had our thrills off roading up and down the hill in a suburban without a car seat).

After the wedding in Park City, Cody and I got to spend a week in Logan, UT with The Orvins. We had another wedding reception for my dear friend Frances the following weekend, so it was a good excuse to see Grandma and Grandpa Orvin and the rest of the gang. We had a great time going out to eat, shopping, playing games, and we even made it up to Idaho Falls to visit my Aunt Becky and Uncle Jim - as well as my cousin Jennifer's family. Here are a few randoms...

cousins!

On Saturday, we had to leave Logan and head back down to attend my friend, Frances' reception in the Salt Lake area. I was super excited to go and see Frances and meet her husband and introduce them to Alivia and so forth. We were getting ready to go and I went to my suitcase to try and find Frances' reception card with the location information. As I glanced at the card -I took a big gulp, gasped for air, and raced upstairs to tell Cody the awful news. Turns out the reception for Frances was the night before on FRIDAY!!! I panicked and raced to call Frances hoping she would be in town for another day or two so I could go down to Salt Lake and spend some time with her. I got her on the phone only to learn that she was flying out that afternoon. I was so sad. No not sad...more like devastated, sickened.

Hopeful, we packed in a hurry and tried to meet up with her at the airport, but because of traffic, and the distance between Logan and SLC airport, we didn't make it in time. In tears and really quite PISSED OFF at myself and the world, Cody asked what he could do to make the situation better. I said, "the only way to fix this situation and make it better is to have a time machine. Do you have one? No. Can you get one? No. Why? Because they don't exist. Well, not outside Hollywood anyway."

And missing Frances' wedding by a day, my friends, is in the running for "Airhead Move of the Year." Here is a little of what I missed :(

And here is the outfit Alivia's was going to wear to the reception. We were trying it on that morning to make sure she looked super cute in it. What a waste. A sad, embarrassing, stupid waste! (Connie thinks that if she closes her eyes, I won't take her picture. Clearly I still will...muah, ha, ha).

We did however get to see our friend Derek. We grabbed lunch and enjoyed catching up.

See you again at Thanksgiving Utah!!!

Catching Up: A name and a blessing...

Alivia Pearl was blessed over labor day weekend. It was such a great weekend! The weather was great, we had family visiting from Arizona, Utah and Montana for the occasion, and Cody really did a thoughtful job. Here is our sweetheart in her dress, which also happens to be the dress I was blessed in 31 years ago. She really didn't feel like taking pictures after church since she was starving, but I wanted to take pictures of her in her dress and then change her before she ate. So, needless to say we didn't capture Alivia at her best, but here are the best of what we got, minus the first picture to illustrate her attitude while we snapped away!

Cody said the bonnet made her look too old fashion. He kept saying that day, "Ok Alivia. It's time to go churn some butter."

Here are all the nice people who came for the blessing...minus my brother Redge and my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Redge Henn who had to leave before pictures.

Afterward we had a great, low key lunch at our new condo. Everyone really helped me out and Cody was nice enough to go get the flowers late Saturday night when I was complaining about how being frugile makes for a really bare and ugly table scape.

Catching Up: I'm an aunt again!

Let me proudly introduce Rockford Redge Bendheim...my newest nephew born 8.24.2011.

Remember when I set my brother up with my friend and they actually dated and then they actually got married? Well, folks, they've procreated! Rocket (as I've been calling him) is a cute little squirt, with the most pleasant cry you've ever heard. Alivia really likes him too...she smiles at him and talks to him. I love that Marci and I are enjoying new motherhood together. Soon to join the family - Brooke's little guy (#4!) due at the end of November. It's raining babies in the Bendheim family!

Catching Up: Happy 4th!

Seeing as I was not feeling my best and Alivia was just shy of 1 week old, our 4th plans were very chill this year. Brooke had the family over for swimming and a BBQ. I spent my time on the couch with a very soar who-who and bum-bum.

Cody's mom flew into town that day and she got to meet her 22nd grandbaby! I was worried that Connie wouldn't think Alivia was anything too special, being her 22nd and all, but my worries were all for not. She adores Alivia and Alivia adores her. And when it was time for Connie to go home after a week long visit, we all had a tear seeing her go.
